Testing 22LR Ammo in the Ruger Precision Rimfire

In this test we ran several types of .22LR ammo through the Ruger Precision Rimfire to see which produced the tightest groups for NRL22 competition.

Shooting Setup

  • Rifle: Ruger Precision Rifle Rimfire 22LR
  • Scope: Arken EP5 5-25×56
  • Ammo: CCI, Eley, SK, Norma
  • Distance: 50 Yards
  • Conditions: Sunny 45 degrees @ 4500 feet elevation

Results

The CCI Standard Velocity and Norma Tac 22 produced the best results while staying sub sonic in speed. The Eley Match also produced excellent results, but it seemed to shoot super sonic at our elevation.
